Myth vs. Reality - the R&D Tax Credit
While big banks, automobile
manufacturers and others receive billions of dollars in government
money, you're probably asking yourself..."where's mine?" The answer
is: The Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit.
The definition of R&D is much more
broad than you may realize. The R&D Tax Credit encourages U.S. based
manufacturers to innovate and invest back into their businesses in
order to compete more effectively on a global basis. In recent years
a significant number of manufacturers, including "job shops" have
claimed R&D Tax Credits, some with extremely positive results, and
some have less than pleasant experiences.
The R&D Tax Credit is tricky, and
it's difficult to understand all of the rules and regulations. But
if implemented correctly, it can prove exceptionally profitable. The
key is "if implemented correctly."

Dr. Rudolph completed his MBA in
marketing at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN
in 1982. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mass
Communications/Advertising and Marketing at the
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 1999.
For eight years Dr. Rudolph was the
Marketing Director of a mid- size retail and wholesale
building materials supplier. Over the past 25 years
Roger has provided consultation, training and research
for regional, national and international corporations.
In addition to his consulting and
research practice Dr. Rudolph's ambition has allowed him
to enjoy several faculty positions. He taught marketing
management for the Graduate Programs in Management at
the University of St. Thomas and St. Cloud State
University. Roger currently teaches advertising courses
in the nationally accredited undergraduate and graduate
programs in Mass Communications at St. Cloud State
University. |
